Anyone interested in going to the races at Golden Gate Fields March 28th.. I have 6 tickets $40 each. Includes entrance fee, unlimited buffet and free parking. On September 23, 2009, I received a letter congratulating me that I was selected to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park in New York next summer along with fourteen other twelve year olds from the South San Francisco Youth Baseball Association (SSFYBA). After trying out on consecutive days in early September, fifteen players were selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I am very excited to travel and play the sport I love most, but we need your help. In the next six months, my family and I, along with the other families have to raise enough money to send our team to New York.

I also have another personal stake in this yearly tradition. In addition to me going, a very important person to me, Mike Callero, was one of three instrumental figures in starting this tradition. Ten years ago he had a vision of sending fifteen players a year from the SSFYBA to play at the birthplace of baseball, Cooperstown, New York. Even though I have yet to travel to Cooperstown, I have heard nothing but wonderful things from previous players. I truly believe it is an experience of a lifetime for every player and parent who has the opportunity to step foot in Dreams Park. Although Mike passed away last month, his legacy will continue each year when South San Francisco sends a team to New York.

Join us on Thurs, Dec. 17th at Chevys in So. San Francisco- 4-9:30pm. This is a fundraiser to help the So. San Francisco FOG team raise money to go to NY and play baseball. 25% of your bill will be donated back to the team. Hope to see you all there.
